I replaced this cap. A good method for checking a monitor with black screen and no power LED is to check the power supply outputs; typically 5V and 12V but this can vary. I see no obvious issues visually.
Also sorry for not mentioning that I did look at the panal when you brought it up, I should have said so but I forgot since I did not see anything about it. That typically has at least 3 different voltages, produced by bucking regulators. However with the video signal from my notebook PC the screen is solid bright white for as long as I care to look at it.

It is usually capacitively coupled. If that does not work I will ask if anyone wants a monitor for parts or repair as I will be outa my leage. Remove one of the primary winding pin and connect a 60 watt light bulb. In the areas that are burned i see this chip. Since I am a one trick pony on these I orderd a set of caps and replaced them hoping for the best. Anyway this one has the good brand of Samxon for all but the big guy and that is a KM M but they rarly go bad from what I know.
You really think the burnt spots are just due to bad solder joints?
I checked between gate and drain, source and drain I looked at a few other caps which were not datasueet. Can you tell from the data sheet if D2 and D1 are shorted? If it is missing, check the fuse, etc. I looked into the fuse and connector advise and could not find any issues. When looking for shorts on teh inverter drivers, remember that the inverter transformer is present. I have fixed about a doz monitors now with daatasheet the knowledge of replacing the PS caps and have had good luck with this as I have always found the bulged caps every time I opened one up.
I was looking at the signal board wich I also included a photo of and doing some searches on it but I could not find any silver bullet type fix for it. Should ALL of the inputs on the primary side be shorted? One end to the circuit while the other to the transformer pin. If those voltages are not present, check the voltage across the large cap – it should be 1.
Measuring the primary side of the transformer. I also measured the diode as shown in the data sheet. Thanks for the help, I did add a few pics of the board in case you can see something I do not.
