Six central topics – individuals in society, politics and power, cultural and intellectual life, religion, economics and technology – are explored in two chronological sections, and Politics and power Wiesner-Hanks Limited preview – Books by Merry E. A eutope text-book for undergrads with a commandable attempt at problematising the major terms.
Religious reform and consolidation User Review – Flag as inappropriate This book is seriously deficient in its presentations and misrepresents developments in Europe. This is an easy to read book that covers all important aspects of this period.

Trivia Mocern Early Modern Euro History books especially are boring but Hanks’s this book is different others. Sep 11, Nele rated it really liked it Shelves: Early voyagers after Columbus. She glaringly under-discusses the clash between Catholic Europeans and the Ottoman Turks throughout the critical 16th Century; misrepresenting the Holy Roman Empire, the Habsburg dynasty, the Iberian expansion and the mapping of the globe.
