It is a member of the Visayan language family. But I really need to learn Ilonggo ASAP because my mom forgot almost all her English and part of her Tagalog; she keeps switching to Ilonggo halfway through sentences or adamantly insists she’s speaking English so she just gets slower, louder, and angrier when I don’t understand what she’s saying. Problem is that it’s annoyingly difficult to find resources for Ilonggo or any other language like Waray or Cebuano because, for some reason, the languages are all considered dialects of Tagalog so people just recommend Tagalog resources!
